The 4th Belgrade International Meeting “Artur Takatch Memorial” fulfilled all expectations of both guests and hosts. Nearly 10 000 athletics’ fans rooted for some 160 competitors from 35 countries and more than 20 Serbian athletes at “Partizan” stadium. Traditionally, the meeting opened with the “Speeding for the Stars” run of the third and fourth graders from Belgrade Elementary schools. The Olympic Committee of Serbia president, Vlade Divac, opened the 4th Belgrade International Meeting “Artur Takac Memorial”. After an active sport career, interrupted by the Second World War, he had a key role in organizing the world championship in Belgrade in 1962 and became an international sport administrator.
